Fat Possum acts, Tennis and the Walkmen, displayed last night why they’re a force to be reckoned with and 2011 is looking pretty damn bright.Let’s not forget about the crushing set that Japandroids plowed through in a fashion that only the duo know how to before a packed all-ages crowd that stood shoulder to shoulder having their ears split and faces melted simultaneously. Tennis has been a staple in the local scene for the last couple of months and last night seemed like a coming of age party for the Denver darlings playing their soft brand of surf-rock. Their debut album is slated to be released early 2011 and here’s to hoping they have a full album of new material! The Walkmen played a vast majority of their latest masterpiece, “Lisbon”, released last month. The NYC sultans of cool exuded a new-found confidence and command of stage that I didn’t see last time around at the Outside Lands Festival a couple of years ago. They only have a few days left on the North American tour, so make sure and catch them.
